Donald Trump's mug shot from Georgia

The mug shot of former President Donald Trump has been revealed by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. This photograph was captured shortly after he surrendered himself to authorities in Georgia on Thursday evening in response to his indictment for interfering in the election.

Trump becomes the inaugural ex-U.S. president to have his mug shot taken.

According to the sheriff’s office, he underwent processing and was released from the Fulton County Jail on Thursday evening. A provided inmate number, P01135809, was assigned to him.

All of the other nine defendants who have surrendered in this case thus far, including ex-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Trump’s former legal representatives – former mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, and Sidney Powell – have also had their mug shots publicly disclosed.

In a subsequent post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Trump shared his mug shot. This marked his first activity on the platform since January 8, 2021. The post contained a link to his campaign website for 2024, where the mug shot was showcased as part of a fundraising appeal.

After the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, Trump’s Twitter account was permanently suspended. However, Trump’s account was reinstated by the new owner, Elon Musk, in November 2022. Nevertheless, the former president chose to maintain his presence on his own social media platform, Truth Social.

Trump has been indicted in three other criminal courts since March. However, the authorities in those jurisdictions did not require him to have a mug shot taken during the processing.
