The Odysseus lunar lander, nicknamed “Odie” or IM-1, is mere miles from the moon’s surface. The robotic explorer is attempting to become the first US-made spacecraft to successfully touch down on the moon in five decades.
Timing on this tricky landing attempt has been a moving target: Touchdown is expected at 6:24 p.m. ET, according to the latest update from Intuitive Machines, the Houston-based company that developed the spacecraft.
