After being lost for four decades, a wallet was reunited with an Ontario family when it was discovered in an air duct at a storage facility.
Andrew Medley, working on a storage unit at Eaton Centre in Toronto, found the wallet and traced its owner through Facebook. Despite initial attempts to contact the woman and her daughter, Vanessa Austin, being unsuccessful, Medley, before leaving town, located Austin on LinkedIn and personally delivered the well-preserved wallet to her workplace.
Austin marveled at the wallet’s condition, noting that it appeared untouched for the entire 40-year period. Among its contents were precious items such as photographs, Austin’s birth certificate, and immigration paperwork from the family’s arrival from El Salvador.
